"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style."

Maya Angelou

(or as most people call me, just Sam)

I graduated from La Luma Academy in December 2020. I began my career in Guelph and loved what I was doing, but knew I needed to shake things up in order to find the freedom I was looking for. Flash forward to May 2022, I found the salon of my dreams, in the town I used to call home. Industry Hair Co believes in empowering the stylist, with a work-to-live mindset (how it should be everywhere, in my opinion). Making the move back to Milton was nerve wracking, but ultimately sooo worth it. I am currently living in Guelph, am thriving in my career and happier than ever. My goal is to make people feel fulfilled and empowered in their daily lives. You too, have the potential to be happy in all that you do.

Sam's Story

want to look great and feel inspired?

yooooohooo!

I'm Sam, I'm 24, and I've spent the past few years creating a life I love living. I'm here to share the things that make me happy, so you can hopefully start living a life you love too!

For quick context of who I am: I am single, a Gemini, an animal lover, and I grew up in the big, ol' GTA! I currently live in Guelph, and try my hardest to live a healthy, mindful lifestyle, I've travelled lots, and I went to university for not quite 3 semesters before I decided it wasn't for me. I have always known I didn't want to sit behind a computer screen all day or work in an office. Even though I always wanted a "fun job," I didn't quite know what that meant, so after leaving London, I decided to take some time for self-discovery.

I grew up cheerleading, always being the person to help other teammates with their hair and makeup. After a couple of "successful" sets of DIY at-home highlights on my best friend, and a few mediocre event styles, I took a leap of faith and started hair school. I was nervous, but I knew it was for me. I've since learned that my intuition is my area of genius (thank Renee-France of WispCo for that find!), and I only ever follow the guide of my gut! From style choices to work environments, building + breaking relationships and friendships, and even picking my apartment out!!

2 years, less some lockdowns, and I can't imagine being anything other than a hairstylist! I love being challenged in all ways this industry tries me - technically, physically, and emotionally. I love combining my creative skills while hanging out with some pretty cool people! I work in an environment that supports me to thrive and freely allows me to build my schedule, depending on what I need of each season.

While I continue creating the life I've always dreamed of, I will share the things that excite me. I'm gonna share the things that make my life easier, the things that make me happy, the things that make me just 1% better each day. Anything that cultivates confidence or gratitude. I know that I can make someone's life a tad easier or teach somebody something new with the things I share. I'm in my selfish bish era, and I'm choosing to be more mindful about the things I need, more intentional with where/what/who I surround myself with, and just like, fricken slay life 🤟🏼  join me in creating a fulfilling, exciting, easy life for yourself. Be who you wanna be, and do what you wanna do. I promise that if you follow your heart, it won't take you in the wrong direction.

With love, Sam
